Ryan Janus - Sax/Clarinet/Flute/Oboe/AP Music Theory Prep

Ryan Janus has been teaching music almost as long as he has been involved in it. Formally, his teaching experience began in his college years with a couple private students and coaching of marching band percussion sections. While still an undergraduate student, Mr. Janus was teaching Aural Skills in a formal classroom situation. He continued teaching privately through his undergraduate years at Hope College and his graduate years at the University of South Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Music in performance degree from Hope and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from USF, graduating both institutions Magna Cum Laude. Mr. Janus earned a perfect 4.0 GPA at the latter institution.

These days, Mr. Janus's job in the Air Force Academy Band takes much of his time away from teaching, which he sorely misses. However, he still finds time to teach saxophone, theory and jazz flute at the Broadmoor Academy of Music. Mr. Janus is available to teach saxophone, clarinet, flute, piano, and beginning oboe and bassoon. He also coaches an Advanced Placement Music Theory prep course on demand.
